The Loy Krathong Festival   first started during the
time of the Sukhothai Kingdom about 700 years ago
by chief royal consort, Noppamas. It is based on a 
 Hindu traditionof thanking Goddess of water called 
Pra Mae Kongka. ( Pra Mae means Goddessand 
Kongka means water )This festival was established 
theend of the main rice harvest, in another word on
the moon full  of November.
